Why do they make AIO's that will duplex print, but don't have duplexing ADF's? (personal not office)?
Very irritating. HP customer support wasn't very helpful. They said they don't make any printers that have duplexing ADF's.
You need to look at the Samsung SCX range or Canon iR1022 / 24 MFP / AIO. HP make them with the ADF feeder, but you need a DADF feeder. DUPLEXING AUTOMATIC DOCUMENT FEEDER. Give these guys a call they know what they are talking about http://www.fuss3printersupplies.co.uk/

Is allowing ADF female soldiers on the front-line going too far for the feminists?
Like we all want equality but are the Australian public really ready and prepared to stomach the possibility of a female soldier been captured and gang raped by enemy combatants? Equality in a safe white collar office is very different to the practicalities on the battle field. Women tend to be rather emotional too what about if they accidentally or were ordered to fire on children in a life or death situation? Male soldiers find this hard what makes females better at coping with these horrible things?
They will have to introduce a couple new branches, or departments, into the ADF to provide for Women's Special Interests.....like our civilian governments are doing to appease the braces & bib brigade. Will there be disruption, as in private enterprise, by combatants opting out of undesirable duties & using the excuse of taking maternity leave? Will every female who doesn't gain promotion over a male go to arbitration & claim discrimination because she is a female? Will females provide their own latrines & "outdoor" urinals as is the current practice of males? The supporters of this concept spruik off the Israel, the US & many other countries have females in active roles....just check out how many countries have their female DF personnel do exactly as their male counterparts............hardly any because experience has shown that they are not physically up to the task. Female police officers are not up to the level as their male counterparts when it comes to the rough stuff. They cause undue stress for the males, on some occasions, by not having someone capable to support them, in times of need.
Batch scanning software to emulate duplex scanning from single sided ADF scanner?
I'm going paperless and scanning all bills and etc into electronic form, but they are 2 sided and the auto document feeder scanner (office jet 6500) only scans one side at a time, so I need a scanning or a document management software that allows you to use the ADF to batch scan the odd sides (pages 1, 3, 5, 7, ...) of this stack of paper, turn them around then scan the even sides (which are actually in reverse order, essentially being pages …8, 6, 4, 2), without having to manually do the individual renaming of file names.
I've tried OmniPage Pro 16; DocsVault Pro 3.5; seems they are all geared towards turning scanned pictures into PDF, rather than managing the actual scanning process.
Most proper duplex scanners (either with automatic reverse feeding or having 2 physical scanning image sensors) cost beyond the home users' reach, so could anyone please help to point me in the right direction as to any software that can handle the ¬_scanning_ process better?
You are using improper equipment if you are going paperless with a single sided only machine, If you are ever in need of a very affordable business-grade copier with scan and fax features and which will Automatically Scan (double-sided) which are very inexpensive to operate, and are extremely reliable please visit us at www.copier1.com Sincerely, Tim Waters www.copier1.com sales@copier1.com service@copier1.com 1.888.866.2679
Should politics come from the pulpit?
The founding fathers of the United States understood the need for a clear separation of church and state. They even wrote the principle into the U.S. Constitution, hoping to prevent the terrible problems they'd seen when the walls between religion and government were erased in Europe.
Then, 54 years ago, Congress went further. They passed a law that banned political endorsements by tax-exempt houses of worship.
It was not designed as a punishment. The rules were set in place to distinguish between religious, educational and charitable institutions – which are entitled to tax exemptions – and political organizations, which are not.
The law was clear. Tax-exempt entities may not "participate in, or intervene in … any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office."

"Many Americans' attitudes and actions toward slavery, child labour, civil rights and even the American revolution itself started in the pews of the nation's churches," the ADF says in its press release. "As pastors preached and taught biblical principles related to those issues and evaluated the politicians who promoted or decried them, their parishioners could decide their own stance in light of the scripture. Starting in 1954, that most basic right was ripped away from our pulpits."
ADF attorney Erik Stanley added: "For so long there has been this cloud of intimidation over the church.… It is the job of the pastors of America to debate the proper role of church in society."

A Push for politics from the pulpit
http://www.cbc.ca/news/reportsfromabroad/champblog/2008/09/a_push_for_politics_in_the_pul.html
** Interesting and timely article**
In a pluralistic society, religion should have no place in politics. The founding fathers were very careful and intelligent about this issue. Our nation was founded, in part, on freedom of religion. To preach a certain brand of politics based on a certain brand of religion is unfair to those people who do not subscribe to that same certain brand of religion. Although I consider myself to be a liberal, I recognize that many good things have been propelled forward by religion. However, one only has to study history to see some very ugly things which have occurred in our world as a direct result from mixing politics and religion. Look at the Holy Crusades, The Inquisition, Slavery, Segregation, Hitler even used the Bible as grounds to exterminate the Jews during World War II. To avoid all of this, we do not have a state church and we try to separate church and state as best as we can. Republicans have a tendency to embrace a narrow-minded religion (it's easier to think that God's on your side when you do certain things), and democrats tend to embrace a more inclusive or diversified brand of religion, one that is less likely to infringe on the rights of others. Blessed or cursed, we will always be struggling to sort this issue out. And in the end, the important thing is that we try to sort it out. Because if we ignore it, we would be ignoring our heritage and the US Constitution.
