Is scanning with a wireless all-in-one slower than with a direct USB connection?
I bought an hp all-in-one (printer/scanner/fac/copier) and use the ADF to scan a stack of images at a time. I'm scanning at 600dpi and it seems quite slow. I use to use my traditional flatbed scanner, which connected with USB and it seems faster...
So is wireless scanning (where it sends the scans to your pc through the air) slower than if it is connected with the supplied USB cable?
obviousley, wireless ones are built to make it easyer for you and keep your house looking neat with less cables, for example if your computer is in your dining room you wouldnt want a large printer lying there hooked up, it would look ugly, also for laptops youre not going to connect a laptop to a scanner everytime so its for the laptops most of the time, and yes usb is direct so it will be faster.

How would I turn on again my printer?
My family just buy a new printer last December. A Brother MFC-240C all in one printer, scanner, fax and xerox machine. I tried to scan a page on a book last saturday as an assignment. When I scanned it, it immidietly turned off even the plug is on and the usb cable is attached so I wonder. I read the user's guide and I saw ("Caution!" DO NOT leave thick documents on the scanner glass. If you do this, the ADF may jam.) So how would I fix this problem???
check that your scanner glass isn't blocked by anything. make sure the lid can come off and cover easily. then put a piece of rough paper and test scanning. if it can't work, make sure your computer has the software of your printer, and your cables are properly connected. at your computer's control panel, under printers you should be able to see "Brother MFC-240C". if not, disconnect your printer cable, reinstall and then reconnect your cable.
Scanning multiple documents?
I'm buying a new multifunction printer/scanner, and need information about a feature called scan-to-usb. I want to scan a pile of documents, feeding them through the automatic document feeder (adf): This should result in one file per page (as opposed to just one big file with many pages), but I don't want to manually assign file names to each of the pages .
In order to achieve this, does the device need to have a scan-to-usb functionality?
Or will the software be able to automatically assign file names w/ numbers or a
similar method, in a device lacking the scan-to-usb trick?
Thanks, Ben
It depends on the scanner setup. I use one that will scan multiple pages to one file if you use the sheet feeder.
